Potty Training Articles
So you've the made the decision to begin your child on his journey out of the diaper and onto the toilet. But if you're like most parents, simply the prospect of potty training may seem a bit overwhelming. That's why it's a good idea to find out how ready you are (both emotinally and phsycially!) before you begin.
Once you've determined the readiness of both yourself and your child, you can start learning about the basics of exactly what you should be expecting during this important developmental stage.
Probably one of the biggest questions on the minds of parents considering potty training is, "when should I start?". What you learn might surprise you! In fact, many parents assume that is better to wait to toilet train, when in fact their child is already ready. Get the facts on the
early vs. late debate so that you don't waste any more of your precious time.
Once you've made the decision to start, there are a few things you should know. For starters, put the rumors to rest and learn what (if any) differences exist between potty training girls and boys. Then get the tips you need to help you get started with both, including why consistency is one of the key tenents of any successful potty training method.
Finally, don't let yourself get lost in all the media rage over the latest potty training products. In fact, these may just make the whole process more drawn out and complicated. For example, many parents believe they are making their children's transition to the toilet easier by putting them in pull-ups, when in fact this could just make them more confused when it comes time for the real thing.
Of course, one product you should be well versed on is the potty chair, as you'll need to know which kind will work best for your family.
Hi there,
I have a boy who will be 2 next months. I found you’re program on the Internet and ordered it. Let me tell you it is the best investment I have ever made. My son was willing to sit on the potty but he wanted to wear a diaper instead of real underwear. I followed the plan and we had only 2 accidents the first day, the second day we had none and he has not had a diaper on for a 6 days. Yesterday he went in the bathroom, and when he did not come out fairly soon, I went to check on him and he was on the toilet going poop and he was so proud of himself when he was done.
Thanks a lot for the idea. There are two other children in our church who are his age, and they both still wear diapers. I told them to go to your web site because it really does work. Pamela Success Date: 11/30/2005 |
